The 95th anniversary of the Gersevanov Research Institute of Bases and Underground Structures is a fitting occasion to recall the history and achievements of several generations of scientists and look into the future, drawing on decades of experience and using modern research methods. The institute’s credo is to always meet the demands of civil and industrial construction, using theory and experiment and translating findings into construction codes with a clear scope and its limitations. 2026 marks the 95th anniversary of the founding of the N.M. Gersevanov Research Institute of Soil Mechanics, Geotechnics and Foundation Engineering (NIIOSP), the leading research institute in this field in Russia.
